Jenny Reinheardt has been the Firewise Coordinator for Wallowa County since June of 2024. Jenny comes with a long background in wildland fire suppression, prescribed burning, and environmental assessment writing during her 30 years with the U.S. Forest Service. In 2006 she won a Regional award for Outstanding Achievement in Prescribed Fire and a National Award for Excellence in Prescribed Fire and Ecosystem Management. She was a Regional Instructor for the Forest Service both during and after retirement. Jenny also wrote the 2016 Union and 2017 Wallowa County Wildfire Protection Plans. She comes with a wealth of fire background to help Wallowa County communities be better prepared for wildfire.
